Went out from rock harbor on the cape. booked with Triton charters and had Captain Steve Peters with Stu as the mate. There were six of us and we had gone out with the high tide which was 10 am. We had our limit by1:30 and all fish were between 32 to 38 inches and FAT!
We kept fishing and were throwing back 36 inch fish. It was a blast. We even caught them on spinning rods with18 lb mono.

My son and I went on a trip with a guy who does fly fishing in aruba around the coast of the island in the mangroves and such. Kind of like we do around the edges of a lake. We used regular spinning reels with 15 lb braid and 25 lb mono leaders. This was a real good time. My son caught a nice grouper and a sand digger. I caught a needle fish and a 13 lb Barracuda.

Smallies everywhere! Taking a bait caster and a pouch of Senkos up river finding the pools behind rocks and deep areas next to the river bed. Needed a waterproof headcam as walking was slippery. most every cast resulted in a strike and either morning afternoon or evening would produce some decent sized fish. well worth the trip if you are looking for a decent campground as well.

Had the day off Friday so Bob and I headed out for some small mouth action we hoped. Got on Johns pond by 7 am. I know it's late but we had to stop for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. As we were going around the shore a guy showed up ad was loading his boat. He started loudly talking to himself. As he was getting aggravated he started yelling and swearing at himself, hilarious! Both of us were watching good sized bass swimming around the flats but none were interested in our tackle. As we were trying to figure out what they were interested in, Bob hooked on to something big. Before he had the chance, it yanked his pole and snapped his line. As we made our way around the shore, the boat was facing me away from shore and with all of the info I have read on the site I looked at the fish finder and saw a ten foot depth. I looked at the lake depth map and figured the bottom drops off about 20 feet out from the boat. I grabbed my spinning rod and put heavy spinner bait on it. Heaved it out and counted to three to allow the sink. Started to slowly retrieve, WHAM! As I have read over and over CROSS THE EYES ON HOOK SET. So I did. I told Bob this was going to be a good fish. Is it rose I expected a smallie to shoot out of the water and I was ready. It broke the water, “Bob, Get the net! It was a big Largemouth. I fought the fish as carefully as I could as to not screw this up (I have done that before). We got it in the net (Barely fit). We weighted it in at 6lbs 4 oz. In the past I have only caught 4.5 lb fish so you all can understand my excitement. As for the rest of the day, we both landed 8 or so fish. All ranging 2 to 4 lbs. I would say it was a huge success. A special thanks to Jay at Boag Hog bait!!

Went out with my son around 2:00pm. Caught a couple of 2.5 LM and a couple good sized slime darts. The place is loaded with weeds and the bite was slow. it was a pretty good day all in all. Unfortunately my son lost his digital camera at the boat ramp. He thinks it was left on the ground while we were loading the stuff in the crawdad and is hoping someone found it. He is heart broken as all of his seventh grade end of school pictures were on it.
