Beautiful Canada Lake is located in the Town of Caroga, Fulton County, on the southern tip of New York's Adirondack Mountains. Located mid-way between neighboring Pine Lake and East and West Caroga Lakes, Canada Lake is a popular Adirondack destination. Almost 300 homes, cabins and camps populate the shores of Canada Lake and adjoining Green, West and Lilly Lakes. Most residences in Caroga, NY are seasonal. During the summer months visitors more than quadruple Caroga's year-round population of just over 1400. Canada Lake Store & Marine located on the lake has boat rentals, and tackle. Canada Lake can be accessed at the West Lake launch. Pickerel, bass, perch, bullheads and some lake trout, are caught here.
The West Canada Lake Wilderness Area is an Adirondack Park Forest Preserve management unit in the town of Ohio in Herkimer County and the towns of Morehouse, Arietta, Lake Pleasant and Indian Lake in Hamilton County. It is bounded on the north by the Moose River Plains area and private lands in the vicinity of Little Moose Lake, Squaw Brook, Snowy Mountain and Squaw Mountain; on the east by NY 30, lands of International Paper and the Spruce Lake-Piseco Lake trail; on the south by private lands north of NY 8, the South Branch of West Canada Creek and an access road to private lands; on the west by West Canada Creek and private lands east of Honnedaga Lake.
